Meet The Team


Ms. Vicky
Vicky is originally from the UK and started dancing at the age of 6 in her local dance school Sidmouth Ballet School and East Devon Dance. She trained in RAD Ballet, ISTD Tap and Modern, Street Jazz, Cheerleading and was also lucky enough to attend workshops for Irish and Spanish. Vicky’s love and interests in teaching began at the age of 14 when she would go to the local dance classes to assist and watch.
She successfully went onto do her RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) teachers training for 2 years, where she graduated in June 2010 with CBTS and gained her registered teacher status.
Vicky moved to the UAE in September 2010 and started teaching full time straight away. Since teaching here she has put students through their RAD exams and has also choreographed for many shows.

Vicky took on the role of Manager at Step Up Academy in July 2014, on top of her management duties she still continues to teach popular classes at the academy.


Ms. Christina
Christina is a passionate dance professional with over 12 years of international experience as a teacher, choreographer and performer.
Originally from New Zealand, Christina started her dance training at the age of 5, studying both Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Ballet and American Jazz Dance Affiliation (AJDA) Jazz Dance. After completing her RAD Grade 8, AJDA Advanced 2 and RAD Advanced Foundation vocational level examinations with Distinction, she went on to study dance full time gaining her Level 6 Diploma in Performing Arts, specialising in Dance.
Following her dance training, Christina performed in a wide range of dance styles, working within New Zealand before travelling and working in London, Macau and Cyprus then finally arriving in Dubai. Pursuing her passion for dance teaching further, she went on to study her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies with the Royal Academy of Dance.

Christina joined the Step Up Team in September 2014 as a full time member of our teaching team and took on the role of Head Teacher from September 2015.


Ms. Emily
Originally from the UK, Emily started dancing at her local school in Buckinghamshire, Claydons Academy, where she took exams with the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) in Ballet, Tap and Freestyle. From the age of 15 she began assisting in children’s classes and realised that her real love and interest was in teaching dance.
In 2007 Emily successfully auditioned for a place at Pattisons Theatre Arts, Coventry. During her time here she gained her Associate teaching qualifications in Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz and Freestyle and Diplomas in Gymnastic Dance and Anatomy. She also performed in many performances and took advanced vocational exams in Ballet, Tap and Modern Jazz.
Since leaving her training Emily worked as a Dance teacher in England for 2 years, entering many children for exams. In 2013 Emily began working for a dance school in Budapest, Hungary and loved being part of an international environment. Here she prepared pupils for exams and also choreographed for many performances and shows.

Emily joined the Step Up Team in September 2015, with her bubbly personality she has become very popular with our students. Ms Emily teaches a wide range of styles at Step Up Academy however she has become particularly well known for her Tap & Modern and Gymnastics classes!


Ms. Caitlin
A professional dancer and teacher who has been dancing for over 23 years, Ms Caitlin’s dance training began at the age of 2 at the Debra McLaren School in the UK. At the age of 13 she began studying dance at the prestigious Centrepointe School in Manchester where she studied Ballet (RAD), Modern (ISTD) and Tap (ISTD) all up to Advanced 1 Level alongside Jazz, Contemporary and Musical Theatre.
She decided to further her career after winning a place at Bird College in London in which she achieved a BA (Hons) in Dance and Theatre Performance where she studied many aspects of Dance and also the theoretical side to it.
Caitlin went on to complete her 2 years study with the Royal Academy of Dance for her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies, gaining registered teacher status with the internationally recognised ballet awarding body. Before moving to Dubai to join the Step Up Team, she taught at established dance schools within the UK and also in Tenerife, Spain.

Caitlin joined the Step Up team in September 2015, specialising in RAD Ballet, Tap, KinderDance and Lyrical classes. She looks forward to another successful year of examinations and show dances with her students old and new.


Ms. Fiona
Fiona is from a small town in the West of Scotland. She first started dancing at the age of 3 at her local school- the Juliann School of Dancing. Here she completed exams in Latin American, Ballroom and Freestyle. She continued on to the Ian McLeod Theatre School where she trained in Ballet and Jazz obtaining top grades passes in all her exams through the British Association Teachers of Dancing. It was here she was inspired to broaden her passion for dance into teaching; giving back to the school that gave her so much.
Whilst studying Law at University, Fiona completed her professional associate teacher’s exam with the BATD in Jazz. She was also fortunate enough to teach in Budapest whilst on university exchange. From this experience Fiona’s passion for teaching internationally has grown. Fiona has since taught, choreographed, adjudicated for many shows, exams and events both in the UK and abroad.

Ms. Katie
Ms Katie is a professional dancer and dance teacher from the UK. Katie started her training at her local dance school, Viva Theatre Arts, from the age of 6 studying in (BBO) Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, (ABD) Acro and was also training at a gymnastics squad. Following from this Ms Katie gained a place at Addict Dance Academy where she achieved a Triple Distinction * in her Diploma in Performing Arts, specialising in Dance.
Ms Katie found her passion for teaching when she became a student teacher at the age of 13 years with her dance school. Ms Katie became a teacher at the Pauline Quirke Academy in 2015 teaching children dance, drama and singing.

Ms. Laura

Laura started dancing at the age of 4 years old at The Trainor School of Irish Dancing where she stayed till she was 14 years old. At 5 years old she also joined an A&J drama school where she learnt the style of jazz and musical theatre. During her primary school years she joined extra dance clubs for cheerleading, street/hip-hop, jazz and commercial dance which she carried on through secondary school. Laura then went to college and university to study performing arts. While she was studying she decided to get into running a cheerleading squad and teaching dance classes for extra money. She became a cheerleader for Pineapple Dance Studios cheerleading squad, dancing professionally for music videos and TV shows. She also worked abroad in the Canary Islands, Greece and Spain as a professional dancer in hotels and for events. After studying she got into teaching dance in primary and secondary schools in London where she taught the styles of Street, Commercial, Jazz, Contemporary, Contact, Musical Theatre, Cheerleading, Samba, Salsa, Bollywood, African, Irish, Rock n roll, Baby Tap & Ballet, Dance fitness (Zumba, Aerobics & Cheer Fit) and also trampolining. She went on to teaching at an academy in London where she taught from the age of 2 up to 18 years old mainly focusing on GCSE and BTEC dance.


Ms. Hollie

Hollie is a professional dancer from England who started dancing when she was 4. Her first few years of training were solely ballroom and Latin before starting ISTD modern and tap and RAD ballet when she was eight years old. At the age of sixteen she auditioned successfully for Performers college where she went on to continue her core training as well as a variety of other styles including contemporary, musical theatre and commercial dance. Since graduating Hollie’s experience includes world cruises, TV work and one-off events. In between contracts Hollie has always loved teaching and has done freelance for years at her own dance school.

Ms. Amy

Amy is a professional dancer and teacher from the UK and started dancing at the age of 5. Her training began at the Michelle Sidwell Academy of Dance before moving to Junior Bird College to achieve her training in ISTD Tap, Modern and Ballet.

Amy then decided to further her training and was successful in gaining a place at Performers College where she studied for 4 years in various different dance styles. Amy graduated from Performers college in July 2015 where she successfully gained her BA Honours in Dance Theatre.

Ms. Maria

Maria is originally from Essex in the UK. Growing up Maria enjoyed being part of her school’s Country Dancing, Gymnastics, Athletics and Netball teams.

After leaving school Maria went straight into work. Some years later she took time out to have her two children and then trained and qualified to become a specialist Nail Technician and subsequently run her own mobile acrylic nail business. Maria then worked in many different industries including being a Business and Events Manager, where she was also responsible for her team. All of Maria’s positions have one thing in common, a customer focused background, where customer service is key.

Maria has joined StepUp Academy in the role of Office Supervisor. Maria likes to offer an open-door policy and looks forward working with the StepUp Academy Team and customers.
